Thirfty-Scout is written by Chuck Kaman, that is me on the right. I live in Huron, Ohio where I have been involved in Scouting for over 10 years. Following my son Bob through Scouts I have worked with Cub Scouts, Webelos, and Boy Scouts. I am currently the Scoutmaster for the Huron Troop. In my outdoor career, I have hiked a wide range of trails from the Appalachian Trail in Vermont to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. I believe Scouting provides a huge benefit for both individuals and our society as a whole. My goal is to make sure that expense does not prevent young people from experiencing these life changing opportunities. Working with my son, I have seen the positive impact Scouting can have on Scouts with developmental disabilities such as autism. All Scouts are unique, but I am happy to share experiences and ideas with leaders and parents working with Scouts with special needs. Please remember that Thrifty-Scout is not affiliated with any Scout organization, the opinions expressed are my own. |
